Our Story
Our Journey Begins
In 2014, a young dancer named Zach—now known as BBoy Zero—stepped into a local studio in Fishers, Indiana, and discovered breakin’. What began as curiosity quickly became a calling. Around the same time, Indiana hosted Battle Ground Zero, a gathering of street dancers from across the country. It was there Zero met Keegan “Seoul” Loye—a battle-tested dancer and teacher from Grand Rapids, Michigan, whose crew, 61Syx Teknique, left a lasting impression. But more than just skills, Seoul carried a mission: to share HipHop’s heart and uplift the next generation through its culture. That mission sparked something real. From then on, Zero and his family began making regular trips to Grand Rapids, training, learning, and building with the crew. The journey had begun.
IN 2017
the movement had momentum. Seoul, along with his partner Sandy and their dog Letty, moved to Fishers to help bring the vision home. With Zero and a group of committed dancers, they formed the 31Svn Crew—named after Indy’s 317 area code. A year later, on February 1, 2018, 31Svn Street Dance Academy opened its doors. From the beginning, this wasn’t just a studio—it was a home for HipHop. Rooted in Peace, Love, Unity, and Having Fun, 31Svn became Indiana’s first and only space fully dedicated to street dance. Here, dancers of all ages learn the foundations of breakin’, popping, locking, and house—while connecting to the deeper purpose behind the movement: authenticity, self-expression, and community.
Today
31Svn continues to build—one class, one battle, one dancer at a time. We’ve welcomed thousands through our doors, hosted major events like IN-Vision and the return of Battle Ground Zero, and partnered with schools and organizations across the state. Our crew members stay active in and out of the cypher—teaching, competing, mentoring, and giving back. Because at 31Svn, it’s not just about moves. It’s about showing up, being real, and growing together. HipHop lives here—not just in music or choreography, but in the energy we bring, the legacy we honor, and the future we’re building.
